Duck Poop

This was taken at Jason’s going away picnic a few weeks back. This duck was just chilling on the grass and he let me get less than a foot away from him. He suddenly got up and walked a little ways away and I had no idea what was going on so I just followed him with my camera and snapped a photo. Right after I snapped it, I realized he was taking a poop, which you can see in this photo haha :P

[EDIT] Here are the photo specs:

f/8.0 – 1/250 – ISO 400 – 75mm – Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi – Cropped

    now that’s an action shot!
i wonder if that could be considered as a defense mechanism to keep people/animals away?

you usually list the camera settings of your photos. what were the settings used for this photo?

looks a bit… watery… to be poop. It sounds like a probably defense mechanism (I know I’ve heard it from other animals, particularly rats/other rodents. It happened a few times when I worked in the rat lab). But, he was pretty considerate in walking away from you before he let loose.

haha, yea he was being considerate i think… even as i got closer he didn’t seem to be alarmed or anything (or so i thought) :P

Wow… that’s a beautiful shot. I always like how the real/pro cameras can make the blurry as they get further away. I can’t believe you carry a camera around with you…
