My mom and her friends have started this beading club and they’re obsessed with “DIY” jewelry. We went to Chinatown in SF and ended up going into at least 10 of these jewelry shops, all selling similar beads for varying prices. Sometimes they were located right next to each other. We’d drop into one of them, haggle a little, leave and go next door instead.

I just wandered around outside after walking around the store once. Found out that the cheap lens filter I’d brought back with me to protect my new lens was indeed VERY cheap… in that if I took pictures of lights at night, the lights would reflect between the filter and my lens, creating a mirrored ghost light. Needless to say, after I discovered that after shooting more than half the photos, I immediately removed the filter and started shooting with just the lens. The photos definitely came out more crisp and better, even when I was shooting hand-held at night. I love my 50 prime, and I really need to get a better filter for this lens.

Tia’s always my first test subject when it comes to new camera equipment. I think she officially hates the sound of the camera shutter closing. :P

I LOVE my new 50mm prime lens. Blurs the background perfectly and the focal point is so crisp. :D
