I went to Balboa Park to check out the botanical garden and to finally test out my new macro lens (Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens). That botanical garden never ceases to amaze me, and this time was no exception. All their orchids were in full bloom, some varieties I’d never seen before… It was great.

I found out that the lens + camera body combo is too heavy to get crisp shots without using a tripod, and that the tripod I have for my camcorder is too awkward and clumsy to use with my DSLR. My arm was quite tired after awhile :P I need to invest in a better tripod…
