I think I’ve discovered the perfect time to visit the zoo… go around 2.30/3 and a lot of the animals that are normally asleep or hidden are all active and out and about! It was awesome… the tigers were super playful and the bears were out of their dens. Also actually saw a mongoose this time, because it was also not hiding in some dark corner. :P

Another shot from the Carlsbad Flower Fields. There’s a free Canon macro photography workshop over there this coming weekend… I’m contemplating going again to check it out. I’d have to pay the $10 admission again, though :/

Taken at the Carlsbad Flower Fields while my family was in town, the center of this flower looked like it could be used in some alien movie. They look like little worm things with their mouths open haha.
Bee!
Mar 23 2009

So I was just trying to do B&W shots of this lavender rose and all of a sudden a bee flew into the shot. I freaked a little, but kept snapping haha… I’m not a fan of the composition of the flower… didn’t turn out quite how I’d envisioned it, but the bee looks pretty cool in the last shot :P
