Project Stickies is now live! :) I’ll be going in and adding more “features”, like pulling in Flickr tags and other stuff (Tumblr’s got new ‘pages’ that you can add and I need to look into that), but it’s open for submissions now, so create a sticky and upload it! :D

a direct response to word that IE6 was to blame for the large-scale Chinese attacks on a number of large web companies recently. As you have no doubt heard, this included Google, which prompted them to say they would stop censoring search results in China, and could be kicked out of the country as a result. Microsoft has denied that it was targeted in this hacking, but has admitted a vulnerability in IE was at least partially to blame. According to Microsoft, attacks aimed at the browser are still ongoing.

Emergency patch? Stop patching and just force upgrade! That’s your best patch at this point. Force upgrade to IE8 or force installation of Chrome or Firefox lol since…

Of course, Microsoft’s own investigation has found that IE8 is vulnerable as well. It’s a nightmare.

Man, what a security nightmare. And the companies that still force their employees to use IE6 just because their system was built around it are jeopardizing the security of their data as well. Cut your profits by a little, hire people to upgrade your infrastructure and move forward more quickly! It’s a win-win for everyone.

I think traffic to my sites from IE6 is next to nil now (yay I have intelligent visitors) so I’m going to stop worrying about how my sites look in IE6. I used to worry about it because I didn’t want potential employers to think that I couldn’t create sites that were cross-browser friendly, but this is getting ridiculous and I don’t have enough time to spare to put into catering to a below standards, holding-the-whole-web-world-back browser.

Just found this framework when I was checking out Mockingbird, an online wireframing tool. This online power-point tool, 280 Slides, is also built off of it. Cappuccino seems like it’s pretty badass! I think I’ve found the next thing that I’m going to experiment with. :)

In a nutshell, this site is a simpler Cuteoverload.com. The framework it’s built off of – Pligg – looks interesting though… like WordPress mu, but more social and community-oriented. Thanks to Andrew for the link!
