From the Denver Post blog:

This is how an American soldier is made.

For 27 months, Ian Fisher, his parents and friends, and the U.S. Army allowed Denver Post reporters and a photographer to watch and chronicle his recruitment, induction, training, deployment, and, finally, his return from combat. A selection of photos from Ian’s journey are posted below.

The story was written by Kevin Simpson with Michael Riley, Bruce Finley and Craig F. Walker. It was reported by Riley in Colorado and at Fort Benning, Ga., Finley at Fort Carson and in Iraq, and photographer Craig F. Walker throughout.

This is such an awesome photo series of a real life soldier… The photographs are well shot and documented. Make sure you read the captions!

The full photo series can be found here.

After talking with Clement last night about how I had been wanting to take a photo of myself everyday for the rest of my life to document the aging process, we came up with Project 1×365, which we are launching tomorrow. It starts with 3 of us – Clement, his friend Wes, and I, on June 5th (6/5) -> Project 1×365 :)

» Go directly to my Project 1×365 photoset

EDIT 8/25/09: I got tired of pictures of myself (I hate having pictures of myself) flooding my public photostream, so I set my Project 1×365 stream to be contacts/friends/family only. If you are interested in the stream, add me as a Flickr contact and I’ll add you back so you can access it. Thanks!
